Manage Industry Metrics

The Industry Metrics page provides benchmarking data to help you understand how your accounts and subaccounts compare against industry averages in phishing simulations. By reviewing these metrics, you can measure training effectiveness, track improvement over time, and set realistic goals for reducing phishing susceptibility.


Page Overview

  • Show Industry Data to Subaccounts (Toggle)

    • ON – Allows subaccounts to view industry benchmark data.

    • OFF – Hides industry data from subaccounts.

  • Export Options

    • Copy – Copies table data to your clipboard.

    • CSV – Exports the table in CSV format for spreadsheets.

    • Excel – Exports in Excel format for detailed filtering and analysis.

    • PDF – Exports a static PDF version of the report for sharing.

  • Search Box

    • Use the search field to quickly locate industries by name.


Table Columns Explained

ColumnDescriptionFormula / Usage
NameThe industry category (e.g., Healthcare, Banking & Finance).Reference only.
AccountsThe number of accounts you manage that belong to that industry.Count of accounts.
TestsThe number of phishing tests run across accounts in that industry.Count of tests.
Subaccount Fail %The failure rate for your subaccounts in that industry.Failing phishing emails ÷ Total phishing emails sent (subaccounts).
2024 Industry Fail %The industry-wide average failure rate for phishing tests in 2024.Failing phishing emails ÷ Total phishing emails sent (industry-wide, 2024).
2023 Industry Fail %The industry-wide average failure rate for phishing tests in 2023.Failing phishing emails ÷ Total phishing emails sent (industry-wide, 2023).

How to Interpret the Fail %

The Fail % represents the percentage of users who failed a phishing test (e.g., clicked a phishing link or entered credentials).

It is calculated as:

Failing phishing emails ÷ Total phishing emails sent × 100

Example

  • Total phishing emails sent: 200

  • Emails where users failed: 10

10 ÷ 200 = 0.05
0.05 × 100 = 5%

Fail % = 5%

This means 5% of users failed the phishing test in that industry or subaccount group.


Best Practices

  • Benchmark against industry averages – Compare your subaccount failure rates with industry-wide metrics.

  • Track progress year-over-year – Use the 2023 vs. 2024 columns to measure improvement trends.

  • Aim lower than the benchmark – Success is when your subaccount Fail % trends consistently lower than the industry average.

  • Prioritize high-risk industries – Industries with higher fail percentages may need more frequent or targeted training.
