Certificates can optionally be awarded to learners upon completion of training materials. Certificates are fully customizable (HTML). Certificates support multiple language locales.

Creating Certificates
To create a certificate, navigate to School > Certificates > Create Certificate. The will open the Create Certificate form.
- Name of the certificate.
- Description of the certificate that will be created.
- Courses that award this certificate.
- Programs that award this certificate.
- First Localization is the default localization for this certificate. You can add more localizations when editing the certificate. The default value can be set by navigating to Administration > Settings > School Settings > Certificates tab.
- Page Size for Localization is the page size of generated PDFs for this certificate. The default value can be set in Administration > Settings > School Settings > Certificates tab.
After a certificate has been created, you will be redirected to the certificate editor.
Customizing Certificates
To edit an existing certificate, navigate to School > Certificates > Manage Certificates. Click the 'Edit' link, located in the Actions column's dropdown menu in the respective certificate's row.
Certificate Editor
1. Certificate Top Bar
- You will need to click the Save button to retain any changes you have made while editing. This includes any information entered on a pop-up window, the Certificate Settings section, or the Certificate Bottom Bar.
- Clicking the Close button will return you to the Manage Certificates page.
2. Certificate Settings
- Name of the certificate.
- Description of the certificate.
- Courses that award this certificate. A course can be added by typing the name of the course then selecting it.
- Programs that award this certificate. Programs can be added in the same manner as courses.
- Extra Fonts are from Google Fonts that you can load into the certificate to use after the certificate is saved. (See the Using Additional Fonts section below for more details)
3. Certificate Editor
Certificates use HTML markup. The certificates should have dimensions of 800 by 600 pixels. Generated PDFs will be centered and fitted to the given page size of the locale.
When editing the certificate, you can select variables to insert. Variables are substituted with the information then sized to fit within the parent elements of the variable if needed. See the Available Variables section for a full list of available variables.
4. Certificate Bottom Bar
- Current Locale drop-down - The drop-down menu in the bottom-left corner of the editor allows you to display different locales for the certificate. You can add a new locale by clicking the plus icon. A popup will appear asking you to choose an existing locale to copy and the new locale you want to add. Once the locale has been created you will need to translate the original to the new locale.
- Current Page Size drop-down – The page size drop-down shows what page size is currently set for the current locale when a PDF is generated. Page sizes are set on a per-locale basis.
- Restore - Remove any changes made since the last save.
- Edit HTML - Switches window to an HTML editor to edit the email HTML directly. You will not need to include html or body tags. The html elements to create the certificate will only be needed.
- Save and Preview – This button will store your current certificate and settings then show you how the certificate will be rendered.
Using Additional Fonts
To add additional fonts to your certificate, enter the font that you want into the 'Extra Fonts' field, then press Enter to select it.

Manage Certificates
The Manage Certificates page will allow you to see what certificates are currently in place for your account along with information related to those certificates. You can view a certificate and its different locale versions, delete your certificates, or edit a certificate.
- Certificate - The name of the certificate.
- Courses - The number of courses that award this certificate.
- Programs - The number of programs that award this certificate.
- Locales - The number of locales available for this certificate.
- Last Updated - The date and time that this certificate was last updated.
- Actions - Clicking the button will show the certificate on screen. The drop-down menu contains links that allow you to view, edit, or delete the certificate.
Mass Certificate Actions
Click the checkboxes in the far-left column to delete multiple certificates.
Viewing a Certificate
Clicking 'View' in the Actions column will show the certificate for its default locale.
- This is the certificate for the specified locale.
- The drop-down has a list of all locales for certificate being viewed. Selecting a new locale in the drop-down will reload the certificate for the chosen locale.
Adding a Certificate to a Course or Program
Certificates can be added to a course or program when creating and editing a certificate (see Creating Certificate and Customizing Certificates sections for details). You can also add them when editing a course or program at the bottom of their respective pages.

Student Certificates
To view the Student Certificates page, navigate to School > Certificates > Student Certificates. The Student Certificates page displays certificates earned by learners.
In this page, all issued certificates will be shown for all students in your account.
- Name - Name of the student who received the certificate.
- Email - Email of the student.
- Course / Program - Indicates if the certificate was awarded for completing a course or a program.
- Content Name - The course or program that was completed to receive the certificate.
- Certificate - Name of the certificate.
- Issued Date - Date that the certificate was issued.
- Actions - Clicking the 'View' button will display the certificate. From here you can view, download, or print the certificate.
Student Certificates by Type
To view the Student Certificates by Type page, navigate to School > Certificates > Student Certificates by Type.
This page displays all issued certificates for students for filtered courses or programs in your account.
1. The Course and Program Filter
Multiple courses and programs can be chosen to be filtered by but at least one course or program must be chosen.
2. Student Certificates columns
- Name - Name of the student who received the certificate.
- Email - Email of the student.
- Course / Program - “Course” or “Program” depending on if the “Content Name” is a course or program.
- Content Name - The course or program that was completed to receive the certificate.
- Certificate - Name of the certificate.
- Issued Date - Date that the certificate was issued.
- Actions - Clicking the button will display the certificate. The drop-down will allow you to view, download, or print the certificate.
Certificates - Training Portal
When a student completes a course or program that awards a certificate, students can see their certificate, download it as a PDF file and/or print the certificate. In the training portal's Certificates page , students can view all of the certificates that they have earned.
LMS Certificates page
Navigate to School > Certificates > Student Certificates to view certificates that have been earned by students.
- Certificate Name - Name of the certificate.
- Issued Date - Date that the certificate was issued.
- Course / Program Name - The course or program that was completed to receive the certificate.
- Actions - Clicking the 'View' button will show the certificate on screen as it would appear for the student. The drop-down menu contains links that allow you to view, download, or print the certificate.
Training Portal Certificates
Certificates can be seen after successfully completing a course.
Clicking the certificate thumbnail will open the certificate.
Certificates after completing a program
Once a student completes all courses in a program, they will see a page with a summary of courses completed for that program along with their issued certificates.
Clicking the certificate icon will view the certificate.
Certificate View
- Print will open a new window for printing.
- Save PDF will generate a pdf of the certificate for the page size for the student’s locale.
Certificate Settings
To edit account certificate settings, navigate to Administration > Settings > School Settings. From here, you can set the default locale and page size.
